Perhaps you forgot the password on your own network, or don't have neighbors willing to share the Wi-Fi goodness. Without a password or passphrase, you're not going to get access to that network, or the sweet, sweet internet that goes with it. The problem is, if there's a lock next to the network name (AKA the SSID, or service set identifier), that indicates security is activated.

INteresting Note: When I’m using my Macbook at home, connected to an external monitor, I use this same 4 port hub and there are no issues connecting to my home Wi-Fi network. I haven’t been able to figure out what caused this, but when I find a solution, I’ll update my post. This happens even if you connect to wifi prior to connecting the USB hub.
